How to benefit
To benefit you'll need to take out a policy with PruHealth. The exact cost will depend on your personal circumstances with factors such as your age and whether you smoke taken into consideration, however it is likely to be between £20 and £40 a month.
If you're not specifically looking for comprehensive health insurance you'll want to focus on making your cover as cheap as possible. You'll be able to do this by going for PruHealth's most basic policy option, 'Core care', and opting out of London hospital treatment. Obviously, if you want the health cover too then a higher level of cover may be more suitable depending on what you had in mind.
Once you've taken out the policy you will be able to join the Cannons, LA Fitness or Virgin gym of your choice through PruHealth.
To activate your membership you will need to pay a one off £25 fee, following which you'll be able to use the gym as an 'occasional user' for 3 months. During this time you'll be charged a partially discounted rate while your gym usage is assessed - this will be around £25 a month.
Simply use the gym at least twice a week during this period and after 3 months you will be eligible for free standard membership to Cannons and LA Fitness gyms and £5 a month membership to Virgin gyms for life.

Conditions
This offer is part of PruHealth's plan to reduce claims by encouraging their customers to get healthier. For this reason to be eligible for the free (Cannons & LA Fitness) or heavily discounted (Virgin) gym membership you will need to make use of your chosen gym facilities at least twice a week.
Visits are calculated on a quarterly basis so if you miss a week you can make up for it by being extra healthy the next week.
