American Express are currently offering a market leading 5% cashback on all spending on their Platinum Cashback Credit Card for three months .
This means that you could earn up to £200 for nothing as 5p of every £1 you spend on the card during the introductory period will make its way back to your wallet.
What's more, as an added bonus you will continue to benefit from the cashback advantage of this card even after the 5%offer expires, although the exact return will depend on the amount you spend.
Annual spends of under £3,500 will attract a cashback rate of 0.5%, with spending between £3,501 and £10,000 attracting a cashback rate of 1% and spends of £10,001 or more attracting a rate of 1.5%.
It is worth bearing in mind that this card has an APR of 18.9% meaning it may not be the best option for those who do not intend to pay off their balance in full each month.
What's the catch?
The 5% cashback offer is applicable to spending on the card in the first 3 months from account opening. After this time the tiered cashback rate will apply.
The 5% cashback eligible amount is capped at £4,000 over the three month introductory period.
You will need to be a UK resident over the age of 18, earning over £20,000 a year and have a good credit history to be eligible for this card.
