What's the deal?
BT is offering the cheapest home and mobile broadband package currently available in the UK.
As part of their standard Option 1 package you can get 10Mb a month of wireless broadband usage at home complete with download speeds of up to 8Mb, a BT Home Hub and basic security for £15.95 a month.
The mobile broadband option is available as an add-on to the package. If you opt in you'll get 1Gb a month free usage for the duration of your contract - a benefit that's worth £180.
What makes it great?
Launched this week, BT's Option 1 home and mobile broadband package is the cheapest of its kind currently available in the UK. For just £15.65 a month you get 'fast and reliable' wireless broadband at home and £180 worth of mobile broadband for when you're out and about.
What's the catch?
To take advantage of the free mobile broadband offer you will need to sign up to BT home broadband on an 18 month contract so this is something to consider. On the plus side this does mean that you'll automatically get the first three months half price (£7.78 per month), reducing the cost further.
Additionally, while the basic Option 1 package is priced at just £15.65 a month (£7.78 for the first three months) you will need to factor in the one-off cost of the £49.99 USB dongle which does push up the price. However, together with the 3 month half price deal included, this means that you'll pay a still-competitive £308.08 over the duration of the contract.
