Asda now guarantee they'll beat their competitors in the price stakes and will refund you the difference if you find something cheaper elsewhere. We show you how to take them up on their offer.

What's the deal?

Asda now guarantee they'll beat their competitor's prices when it comes to groceries.  So, now when you buy something at Asda that's available for less at Tesco, Morrisons or Sainsbury's, they'll refund the difference.

How do I benefit?

This offer applies to both online and in store shopping as long as you have purchased at least 8 products available for comparison.

If you've shopped in store you'll need to visit the Asda price guarantee website and enter the details requested.  You'll need your receipt for this and will need to wait until at least 9am the morning after you shopped.

Your purchases will be price checked against Tesco, Morrisons and Sainsbury's by mysupermarket.com and you'll be told if your shopping at Asda cost you more. If your groceries cost less elsewhere, Asda will give you a printable voucher for the difference and you'll be able to redeem this against your next shop in store.

If you did your shopping online on Asda's website you'll be told straight away if any of your purchases are available for less elsewhere. If they are, Asda will send you an e-voucher for the difference and you will be able to redeem this when you next shop online.

Expiry

You will need to use your voucher within 28 days of issue.

Conditions

A maximum refund of £25 and 10 claims applies per household each month.

Non-grocery purchases are excluded from the price guarantee.

Purchases from Tesco Metro and Sainsbury's Local are excluded from the guarantee.

Only products available from Morrisons, Tesco, Sainsbury's and Asda are included in the price guarantee.  This excludes approximately 10% of Asda grocery products from the comparison.

BOGOF and 3 for 2 offers are included but promotions such as 'buy strawberries and get cream free' are excluded.

We have done our very best to make sure that the information included in this Deal is accurate. However, sometimes offers can be withdrawn or changed at the last minute so please do check that you're able to redeem this Deal before parting with any money, or going out of your way to take advantage of the offer.

On 26 Oct I complied with the requirements of the ASDA Price Guarantee offer - 8 items purchased which are within scope of the offer and 1 which is comparable on the MySuperMarket.com website. I bought 10 items (3 of which were part of triple offer - so 8 individual grocery items) 6 of which were comparable.

When I entered the details in the website the day after the purchase, the computer said I didn't have enough comparable items.

I rang the local store (there are no other contact methods on the website) and was told by a "manager" that I nothing could be done without my taking the receipt to the store but would be contacted within 2 days by the Customer Services Manager.

This didn't happen and I went on my weekly trip to Andover and asked at the Service Desk for the problem to be resolved. I had to wait 15 mins for the CSM. She took me to a laptop which was set up in the store and the receipt was rejected again. I was told repeatedly that the offer required 8 comparable items, despite my showing them a downloaded set of T&Cs and on 2 occasions that I hadn't purchased enough items. The CSM told me she couldn't resolve the problem as the scheme wasn't run by ASDA. When I offered her a set of print outs from the comparison site showing the items and the price differences and asked her to check them she said it wasn't her job. She eventually called the Assistant Store Manager who again tried to tell me that I required 8 comparable items, I showed him the T&Cs. He promised to get back to me later that day or the next day he was on duty. He did ring later that day and again told me that I needed 8 comparable items and that the T&Cs I had covered another offer. I pointed him to the website with the T&Cs he then promised to get back to me by the end of the week.

This didn't happen. I rang again today and was told that the matter had been passed to Head Office where a team was working on queries, when I asked if this meant there were many queries he told me I would have to wait until Head Office got back to him.

Something very similar happened to my son-in-law recently. The assistant scrunched up his receipt and threw it at him and said "you don't qualify". He has more patience than me as I would have asked to speak to the Manager. What a way to treat customers. I first put the "price difference" on this Forum five month's ago as I had been doing really well. I must say for the past two/three month's I have had virtually nothing back even though sometimes I've spent over £150 so I think they are keeping some of their prices low.
