What's the deal?

Sign up to Talk Talk's Essentials phone and broadband package for 18 months and you'll get 1 year free.

The Essentials package includes free local and national evening and weekend landline calls, 24Mb/40Gb a month broadband and a free wireless router.

It usually costs £6.99 a month and this is the charge that will apply for the final 6 months of the contract.

There is a £29.99 connection fee, however, even when you include this the deal works out as just £3.99 a month for your (inclusive) phone calls and broadband over the 18 month contract.

Talk Talk advertise the offer as being £140 cheaper than the BT equivalent!

You will need to switch your line rental to Talk Talk, this is £11.49 a month.

After I signed up to this deal, I was told that my local telephone exchange did not have the free capacity to give me free Broadband, and I would have to pay an extra £15 per month for it until there was a connection available. After kicking up a great deal of bother, calling them cheats and con-men and threatening them with the Ombudsman, they finally agreed to refund my £15 a month. They said that they would soon be able to give me free connection, butmonths have passed and I am still waiting. Their advertising never states, "subject to your local exchange being able to supply it". It is dishonest and misleading. I only got my refund by making repeated calls, demanding to speak to someone senior, and making threats to publicize their cheating advertising.
