Get extra protection against the flu this winter with jabs available from the major supermarkets.

What's the deal?
You can now get the seasonal flu vaccination from your nearest supermarket or high street pharmacy if you're not eligible for a free flu jab from your GP.
Supermarkets and pharmacies including Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Boots, Superdrug and Lloyds Pharmacy are all offering the shot.
However, before you head to your nearest pharmacy and pay for a flu jab, you should check if you're eligible for a free flu shot through the NHS.
The free vaccines are reserved for people deemed to be at a greater risk and should be available from late September. If you fall into one of the following categories you may be eligible for a free flu vaccine:
- Aged 65 or over
- Pregnant
- Have a serious medical condition
- Live in a residential or nursing home
- The main carer for an elderly or disabled person whose welfare may be at risk if you fall ill
- A healthcare or social care professional directly involved in patient care
How do I benefit?
If you're not entitled for a free vaccine then simply head to your nearest pharmacy and ask for the vaccine.
The Asda flu jab is currently the cheapest at just £7 per shot, with prices at other pharmacies anywhere up to £12.99.
The prices at the other main supermarkets and pharmacies are:
- Superdrug £7.95
- Sainsbury’s £8
- Tesco £10
- Lloyds Pharmacy £10
- Boots £12.99
Conditions
Flu vaccines are subject to availability and should be administered by a doctor, nurse or trained pharmacist.
