I went to my local Sainsburys today to redeem the vouchers I printed from here and I was made to feel like a fraudster by both the staff and the manager there. So much so I ended up leaving almost in tears. I was refused the vouchers point blank and the manager stated he would not accept them in 'his' store. Is there anything that I could do about this do you know as obviously they are legitimate vouchers so how could he refuse me using them????? It was a very embarassing experience as the queue had already formed behind me as it was about half an hour before the closure of the store.x

Hi Shelly, I'm sorry to hear you had some problems using the voucher, unfortunately Jacey is correct and that the final decision sits with the store manager, even if he is incorrect.

I'm sure that members of our community have experienced similar problems as well, so why not name and shame the store in question and see how others have dealt with this problem!

It was the Sainsburys in Thorne near Doncaster and the arrogant Store Managers name was Wayne. I think both him and some of his staff would benefit from some Customer Service Training!!!

Have a look on the web for the sainsburyshell site and post a review - try blagger.com , twitter and facebook - the more you can add to you could actually affect their careers if you so wished but I shant tell you how to do that as that wouldnt be nice but the wee man can have an effect on the internet - its the new weapon of choice for the Consumer who wants to fight back against injustice , crime and virtually anything you can think of!

Sorry to hear you had problems. I used mine today no probs.I suppose it is up to managers disgretion as to accept or not. other than going to another store i don't know what else you can do

I think you should write a strong email to Sainsbury's CEO Justin King at their head office..(address details can be found on their website). He has a small group of senior PA's who are really good at sorting out problems, and they definately do not care for bad reports of staff behaviour. I am sure you will get a swift and fruitful response. :-)

My wife has used 12 vouchers at our local store...max 3 per visit...no problems at all !! best £3 we have spent in a long time. ;-)
